Who is eligible for paratransit service?

Paratransit is a public transit service for the disabled whose disability severely impairs their mobility.

To benefit from this service, you must meet the eligibility criteria defined by the Ministère des Transports du Québec in its Paratransit Eligibility Policy, and follow the eligibility procedure.

To submit an application to become eligible for paratransit service, please download the form, fill it out and return it to us, duly completed, along with two passport-size photos and a proof of your age, to the address below:

Each paratransit service application is examined by a three-member committee made up of one representative of the delegated organization (delegated officer), a representative of the disabled and a representative of the health and social services network. All decisions are reached unanimously.

The eligibility committee has to handle all applications within 45 days of receiving them, it if the application is considered to be complete by the delegated eligibility officer.

If an applicant disagrees with a decision reached by the committee, he may, under certain conditions, exercise his right to appeal to the review board.
