The first 100% electric bus line as of 2020

The future of public transit lies in its electrification. In order to reduce its greenhouse gaz emissions and better its citizens' life quality, the STL invests in electric propulsion technology. For Laval residents, all this means clean, comfortable and quiet bus service, and a way for all of us to be part of sustainable development.

We’ve been a leader in electrification since 2012, and we are proud to present Québec’s first slow-charging battery-electric transit bus with a range of 250 km. One more step in our major electrification project! For Laval residents, all this means clean, comfortable and quiet bus service, and a way for all of us to be part of sustainable development:

  • Estimated 40% to 50% reduction in fuel cost per mile
  • With no engine, transmission, or exhaust, save up to 20% in maintenance costs
  • 70 to 80 fewer tons of greenhouse gases per bus per year
  • Electric motors are quiet, making for a greater rider experience
