Laval, March 24, 2019 — The Société de transport de Laval (STL) wishes to inform its users that the job action the taxi industry is planning for Monday, March 25 will significantly affect the STL’s paratransit and shared taxi services. This situation, which will touch many public transit authorities across Quebec, is beyond our control. The STL sincerely regrets the inconveniences this situation will cause and is doing its utmost to limit the impact on users, namely by giving priority to travel arrangements already scheduled for medical appointments. Consequently, this resulted in the cancellation of all paratransit arrangements scheduled for other reasons.
As for our shared taxi service, only Route T16 will be maintained, linking the Montmorency bus terminal to Armand-Frappier boulevard. This route (except for the stretch along Louis-R.-Renaud) can accommodate bus service and will therefore be serviced by STL vehicles.
The STL wishes to emphasize that it has reminded its shared taxi provider of its contractual commitments and obligations toward STL users.
An evolving situation
Pending the decisions that will be taken by the taxi industry, the STL urges users to follow the latest developments on their website and social media. Paratransit users can also get in touch with the booking centre at 450 973-3111, during the centre’s usual hours of operation. For information on the STL’s regular service, call the Customer Contact Centre at 450 688-6520, also during the Centre’s usual hours of operation.
