360 bus line gets makeover and seven-day service all summer

Always free – Shuttle service around downtown Laval - June 23, 2017

The STL’s 360 bus line service is spiffing up to kick off the summer! The makeover is intended to mark the extended service of the shuttle during the summer, offered seven days a week. In partnership with Tourisme Laval, four buses will stand out and sport some highly colorful visuals representing Laval’s main downtown attractions. Free for everyone at all times, the 360 shuttle loops around the entire downtown Laval area and will run every day from June 24 to August 25. Departures will be every 25 minutes from Montmorency métro station.

Some background on the 360 bus line

The downtown shuttle service came about as a result of an agreement between the STL, the City of Laval, Tourisme Laval, Centropolis and its tourist attractions (SkyVenture, Putting Edge, Escalade Clip’n Climb, Maeva Surf), the Cosmodôme, the Carrefour Laval and the Centre Laval malls as well the hotels. The various project partners all pointed to a need for a downtown route to service visitors who have no vehicle or who would like to leave their vehicle at the hotel, at home or at a park’n ride facility.

Originally set up as a pilot project in December 2016, the 360 bus line not only became an official STL route in January 2017 but also a free service offered to everyone, tourists, excursionists and residents alike. The Montmorency métro station, which is equipped with a bus terminal and a park’n ride facility, was chosen as the shuttle service’s departure point in order to best serve travel from Laval, the North Shore and from Montreal.

In looping around the downtown area, the 360 bus line thus allows for the servicing of several hotels and tourist attractions while maintaining a constant connection with the métro station. The shuttle’s service hours will be adapted seasonally: every day for the summer (end of June to end of August), during the week on certain school breaks and every weekend for the rest of the year. In 2016, the 360 bus line ferried over 16,000 passengers.
