The goal is to form 4-member teams made up of people living in the same district in Laval and travelling at the same times between home and one of the three following park-and-ride lots:
The STL and the AMT (Agence métropolitaine de transport) are looking after the purchase and maintenance of the electric vehicle that will be made available to each team. Hydro-Québec’s contribution includes setting up recharging stations at the various terminuses. Each participant will have to buy a full year of the TRAM 3.
However, participants will enjoy substantial savings, as all their expenses in using a car (gas, maintenance, repairs) will be significantly reduced. The team will benefit from a reserved parking space and no permit will be needed at Montmorency station.
And lastly, the dedicated driver will also be able to drive the vehicle for personal use (up to 200 km per month).
The vehicle selected for this project is the Chevrolet Volt, an extended range car with a battery pack that can store enough energy to drive the car 40 to 80 km without recharging, depending on the outdoor temperature, road conditions and driving technique.

A carpooling team consists of a designated driver, a substitute and two passengers.
